Blue Piranha was "born" in 2001, when Jill Sharp turned her love of designing jewelry into her livelihood. Why Blue Piranha? The name came from a dream - a nightmare, actually - in which Jill was being attacked by piranhas, which happened to be blue. "I used to mountain bike a lot, and thought I'd open up a bike shop one day," she says. "I figured the gearheads would love the name." Later, when the mountain biking gave way to jewelry design as a profession, the name stuck. And it has become a recognizable one in the Atlanta area. Jill's designs have been published in jewelry making books and she exhibits at many festivals in the Southeast. |
